Why

We started Self Test Express because STD's are a bigger problem than ever. Casual, unprotected sex has been common for many years, and have had an even bigger boom after apps like Tinder. And the most common STD's are unnoticeable, but can render their carriers infertile, cause impotency, increase the chance of getting cancer, and even kill you. All of them are treatable, but some less than others.

For instance, even though both HIV and Herpes are currently impossible to get rid of, proper modern medicine are able to treat them fairly well. There are medications that disarm their contagiousnes completely, even well enough for an HIV-infected mother to give birth to a completely healthy child. Yes, modern day medicine is pretty awesome! But to get treated, you first need a diagnose, and that's where we come in.

Many people don't know before it's too late. This makes a disease go viral, and infect an unnecessary amount of people. Leading to awkward phone calls and breakups, among other things.

We think getting tested for STD's is too much of a hassle for the modern person, compared to the amount of unprotected sex they have. We want to make it simple, affordable, safe, and quick to get tested. We want it to be a no-brainer.

Our goals

So our long-term vision is to rid the world of STD's. It's quite a hairy goal, we know. But we Europeans like it hairy, according to Americans.

Which also brings us to our second goal:

"Make STD's less taboo."

Because we are people after all, and unprotected sex happens everywhere, all the time. Why be so up-tight about it? It's not like the person who potentially gave you an STD knew about it, right? The person really wanted to make sweet sweet love to you, without a rubber involved. We get it. Everyone gets it. And if that was the case, just get tested asap and there won't be a problem. And if you test positive, tell them to get tested as well. Keep it going down the chain, and suddenly everyone gets the treatment they need. That's why we even reward you for paying it forward. Who we are

Self Test Express is currently run under the Norwegian company Preben & Preben AS. (Which is also the name that will appear on your bank statement, for privacy) We are based in Berlin, and ship our items from there.
